It only takes a little *something* to take a project from ho-hum to amazing!  Even something as small as tilting your images or sentiments at an angle can have a huge impact.  This month we are challenging you to create a project that features something tilted.  Position a frame at an angle, tilt your text, add a background strip diagonally, create a border that has an incline, slant a sentiment block, the sky is truly the limit!  We look forward to seeing your projects!

My tilted challenge. All of a sudden it was April 25th and I had to get up extra early to put together a card for the blog hop challenge. I hope to have more time after I get home from work to make another tilted card, they are very fun to do.Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day:)

Make It Monday #112: Embossed Alpha Die Cuts

Ashley Cannon Newell shows some handy tips and tricks for embossing on your alphabet die cuts.
I found it difficult to emboss my alphabet die cuts without wiping off the embossing powder no matter who  I held them with my tweezers. So, I went to a larger single word die cut I could easily hold with my tweezers and not rub off the embossing powder.

Supplies:
PTI Rosie Posie and additions and die cuts, Boutique Borders, Thinking Big Favorites, Bahama Blue Memento ink, PTI ink, Stamper White CS, Zing Wave embossing powder.

Make It Monday #109: Watercolor Stamping Plus Embossing

What a wonderful way to end March, with a great stamping and embossing technique in one. This week Betsy from Papertrey Ink showed us how to stamp with watercolor reinkers and then stamp emboss over the watercolor image. After a few mistakes I am proud to show you my entry for this week's Make It Monday.
I first stamp the solid flower image and then went back and stamped the leave image.
The white paper felt so stark to me that I decided to soften the edges with TH Antique Linen ink and a foam blending  tool. After my card was complete I took some Harvest Gold reinker and a paint brush and flicked some yellow ink on my card front to give it some more depth and definition.

Supplies:
PTI The Sweet Life stamp set, reinkers~~ Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz, Harvest Gold, Simply Chartreuse and Spring Moss. White embossing power, Smoky Shadow (sentiment) Tim Holtz Antique Linen.

Sequins are popping up everywhere on paper crafting projects and now's your chance to try out this new trend!  With the variety of colors and shapes available, the sky is the limit with the creative possibilities! Paper crafters use them to accent the centers of flowers, add them as borders, fill shakers, or create random splashes of sparkle.

I love the card Betsy made a few weeks ago using the "bokeh (boh-kay)" technique so on this card I played around with the stars and this technique. All I can say is that it is very fun to do! Underneath the sequins the stamped stars are a little darker and then gradually fade lighter and lighter.

Supplies: PTI Enchanted Evening, Blueberry Sky CS, Think Big (sentiment), Party Popper~ stars and bow, Fabulous Frames die cut, Joann's sequins and spangles, MS bakers twine, Close to My Heart (balloon-fussy cut) and strip stamp on lower edge of frame.
INK~ Enchanted Evening, Melon Berry, Ocean Tides, Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist, Blueberry Sky.

Make It Monday #108: Inked Backgrounds

Heather Nichols demonstrates a great stamping technique to make your own personal inked backgrounds.

In this first card I used Versa mark and heat embossed the PTI text stamp the length of the card. I then used Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Royal Velvet Simply Chartreuse and Harvest Gold ink to make my own inked background.Simply Chartreuse ribbon and die cuts from My Mother My Friend set finish the card. The Birthday tag is a cardboard tag from the Cricut Artist bundle pack stamped in Raspberry Fizz and Simply Chartreuse again. The Flowers are cut from Raspberry Fizz felt with pink rhinestone accents.

For the second card  I again used Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Royal Velvet Simply Chartreuse and Harvest Gold ink to make my own inked background. It was then stamped with the Newsprint background in Raspberry Fizz ink. A Raspberry Fizz die cut bunny, leaves from My Mother My Friend and another Cricut cardboard stamped die cut finish the card.

This inking technique is a super fun way to create wonderful personalized paper using your own inks.
