September Blog Hop

Blog-hop-logo
This month it is all about wrapping it up.  Whether you are preparing early for the holidays or have an upcoming birthday or two, have fun experimenting with fabric & felt packaging ideas.
9-25-blog-hop-challenge

Use a pretty piece of fabric like you would wrapping paper and make a custom tag to coordinate with it.  Not into sewing or gluing?  Wrap a kitchen towel or cloth napkin around a special bottle of wine and top it off with a hand-stamped gift label.  Or rip a strip of fabric to use in place of ribbon and finish it with a pretty handmade gift card.

This month is all about wrapping it up. For my Blog Hop challenge card I took a piece of fabric and made a fun ribbon bow on my card.

This month's inspiration is all about autumn patterns, textures & textiles.  Think warm & cozy woolens, houndstooth, tweed, burlap, felt, corduroy. herringbone and even argyle.  You can create your own custom patterns & textures with stamps or impression plates.

I loved all the colors and textures that Nicole showcased for this month's blog challenge. For my August Blog Hop Challenge I used some old tissue pattern paper I sprayed with Dylusions Chocolate Brown and Pearl Mist,  I also cut out flowers from the Frilly Flowers dies. I  stamped some of  the die cuts with Frilly Flowers stamp and True Black ink, The 100% wool felt is from Joann's and I used the Simply Stripes Impression Plate on Scarlet Jewel Paper. Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the PTI Blog Hop.

Make It Monday #78 Stamping and Stitching On Die Cuts

This week's Papertrey Ink MIM  Design Team Member Heather Nichols shows us all about adding perfect, homespun stitching to your projects.

For this challenge I decided to get out some of my silk ribbon embroidery threads and in addition to a back stitch on the stems of my Flower Fusion flowers I did a lazy daisy stitch and a few French Knots in the center of the purple flower. Have to say it was fun to do a little embroidery after all these years. Thanks for checking out my MIM #78 card.

Make It Monday #77 Ink Pads as Watercolors

This week's MIM challenge was from Dawn McVey. Her latest video shows how to use your ink pads as a watercolor media. Very fun technique to try and a wonderful way to further the use of your stamps and ink pads.

Supplies:
PTI Royal Velvet CS and ink, edgers # 2, Aloha stamp set, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, and Terracotta Tile ink,1.75 hole punch, Mat Stack #3, Tag It sentiment.

Watercolors Take 2

For my second card I did a little Tim Holtz  101 and spritzed the leftover ink on my craft mat and took a manilla tag to soak up the ink, (don't waste anything)then stamped a design from Stitches and Swirls and repainted it with new ink watercolors. The tag was run through my CB with the cane print IP.

Make It Monday #76: Double-time Bleach Stamping

This week's Make It Monday is  an old technique with a bit of a fresh twist!  Stamping with bleach has been around for years, but  you can take it a step further and stamp over the bleached areas with color for additional fun looks.

Supplies:
PTI  Autumn Rose CS, bleach, Scarlet Jewel Ink, Think Big (sentiment), Turning a New Leaf and Modern Basic stamp sets, Mind's Eye Kraft Paper.

My second card with the bleach and stamp tech.  I like this technique but I went through a few pieces of cardstock trying to find the right stamps that worked well with the bleach. This card was one of my many attempts to find the perfect combination.  I also used a piece of Ranger felt ink pad for my pink card and a folded paper towel on this smoky shadow card. I believe the Ranger felt ink pad works much better than a paper towel.
Supplies:
PTI- Smoky Shadow CS and ink, Happy Hexagons, Think Big Favorite, and Boy Basic Simple Circles. I also used my new perfect layers rulers to create a 1/16 border around my card base.

Blog-hop-inspiration

This month's inspiration is all about pairing up beautiful summer colors as this wonderful season begins to come to a close.  Put together some citrusy hues along with some pretty floral images to create the perfect project that embodies everything summer.

When I first saw this month's inspiration picture I was always drawn to the "Monet" type background with its subtle pinks, blues, yellows and greens, so when I was playing on SAF Saturday and created this piece of paper with leftover ink and shaving cream I knew it was what I was looking for July's Blog Hop Challenge.  Hawaiian Shores Ink embossed, Simply Chartreuse Ink and CS.Melon Berry Ink and CS,Berry Sorbet Ink and CS, Harvest Gold Ink and CS, Edger # 2, Life is Sweet Stamp set, left over Marble Dye Technique from SAF. Thank you for stopping by for a look. Have a great Day!

When shopping in trendy crafty stores, all of the beautiful embellishments certainly provide amazing eye candy.  But sometimes your wallet can feel a bit intimidated by the costs of all those beauties, and that tends to make you a bit hesitant to actually use them if you actually purchase them.
