Pointillism Play

6a00d8341c64e753ef01b8d1f7b2b8970c-450wi

Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Heather Nichols explores this idea of  stamping and use a polka dot stamp and other tools to apply color to stamped images in a dot form to color them in. Layering the colored dots together create wonderful blending opportunities that take your stamped images to a new level.
I have to say this is one of my favorite mater's techniques so far!!!! I used a piece of watercolor paper that had a purple splotch on the backside and I love the extra texture and interest it gives my flower.

I love the sunflower picture by Van Gogh and wanted my inks to look like oil paints, so I decided to try the new Distress Grit I bought for my next OCC in August. I stamped the sunflowers and then painted on the Distress Grit, let it dry and then stamped again to get ink on my flowers. So very FUN!!

MAY 2016 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

This challenge was a fun jump start into summer mode! I water colored the popsicles and then recessed them into another piece of watercolor paper so my base was flat to stamp and emboss my sentiment.

I used PTI Soft Shadow ink for the grey sentiment, I wish I'd used a different grey ink with less brown undertones than the SS has.

Make It Monday #244

                                                                   SCORE LINES

This week's Make It Monday is all about adding score lines to your cards. Design Team Laurie Willison demonstrates a couple of fun different ways she adds score lines to her beautiful cards. One if her suggestions was to add random score lines to your card projects. So, since I had just finished making a card with the awesome "Tulip Time" stamp set and filled in the white space with a PTI stencil design I decided to give it a try. I have to say I LOVE the added texture the random score lines gave my card. Definitely a technique I will be trying many more times. I was also trying a new color combination for my tulips, one I had seen out on one of my morning walks. I am enjoying the new Bright Buttercup ink paired with Melon Berry and Terracotta Tile.

Enjoy your day. Thank you for stopping by.    Angie
